It has been a really rough month for me. There are a lot of changes coming in my life, and that’s affected my writing. These have been really personal, so I’m not going to go into them here. We’ll just say that time hasn’t been something I’ve had a lot of for the past few months.
First, you may have noticed that I haven’t been blogging as much as I had been. It has been a real challenge to get time and mindspace for putting content together. However, I’m going to have a lot more time after the next few weeks. I’m hopeful that this will mean better posts and a more regular schedule. I already have next week’s post done and scheduled, so here’s hoping I can keep things going on this front.
Second, I’ve decided not to write the series I have been planning, which was to take place in Shildaria. I did a lot of planning to write this, but I honestly just didn’t like where it was heading. It wasn’t as much fun for me as the Blake Heira books and if I don’t think it’s fun to write, I don’t think you will think it’s fun to read. Ultimately, I need to feel like the quality of my writing is up to all the other books you can buy. If it isn’t, I’m doing it wrong. Until I can come up with something I can be proud of when it comes to that series, I’m going to put it on the shelf.
Third, I’m in the final stages of editing Corruption of Blood. I’m going to be releasing this book in September. Once I have a date, I’ll put up on the site. I’m going to do a prerelease for the book, which means I need to get moving on getting everything done.
Finally, I’m working on the prep work for book 6 in the Blake Heira series. I’m just in the beginning stages, but I’m already excited about where things are going. There will be some familiar faces from previous books in this one, including a particular Druid from Heir of Chaos.
That’s how things are going. I’ll see you next week!
