Well, another day, another quarter. This year is flashing past me. I posted some goals for the quarter, so let’s see how I did.
- Finish my first draft of Arena of Night.
I’m SO close to finishing this, I can taste it. I’m in the climax and will finish this week .
- Alpha read Corruption of Blood.
This is done. I’ve sent this out to beta readers (thanks everyone) and am planning changes based on that feedback.
- Create my e-mail list sign in sheet.
Nope. Not even started. I’m working on ideas for improving my website, and this is on the list.
- Write my introduction letters, automate the responder, and plan out the next few months newsletters.
Nope. Didn’t even start.
- Finish reading Elantris.
Completed. I also read A Storm of Swords by George RR Martin, N is for Noose by Sue Grafton, and another book (see below).
- Finish reading Wit’ch Storm.
Completed.
- Post an article every week on my web page.
Yes.
- Include a video every month in my postings.
Done!
- Begin preparing for National Novel Writing Month.
Yes, indeed. The working title for book 5 in the Blake Heira series is Casualty of Silence. I’m working through some of the basic plot, and visualizing some of the characters.
I also have been working with my cover designer for Corruption of Blood. Once that’s finalized, I put it in the Books section.
That’s six of nine, but my goal was seven. Ah, well. Feel free to express your disappointment in the comments below. I promise I read them.
So, without further ado, here are my goals for the last quarter of the year.
- Finish the first draft of Arena of Night.
- Finish preparing for Casualty of Silence.
- Write first draft of Casualty of Silence.
- Complete 3rd draft of Corruption of Blood.
- Get Corruption of Blood to my editor.
- Complete 4th draft of Corruption of Blood.
- Finalize Cover for Corruption of Blood.
- Proofread and complete 5th draft of Corruption of Blood.
- Publish Corruption of Blood.
- Read A Feast for Crows by George RR Martin.
- Read In the House of the Wolf by RJ Eliason (you can get it here on Amazon or here on Kobo, or anywhere e-books are sold.
- Read and review Curses, Plagues, and Intrigues by RJ Eliason.
- Beta read a book.
- Write a blog post every week.
Fourteen things in three months, and a lot of them are pretty big. I’ll be really happy if I can get ten of them done, but really hope to get them all completed. Wish me luck!
