By the time this gets posted, I’ll be over halfway through the first draft of The Invisible, the short story for the latest anthology I’ve been asked to write in. So far, it’s coming together, but it is definitely a challenge. You’d think that something that is about a tenth of the size of something I normally write would be easier. Trust me, writing short stories is more difficult than novels, at least to me.
The difficulty is the word count. I don’t have much, so it is really tough to get everything in there to make it much of a mystery. Ultimately, this will be more of a thriller than anything else. That’s fine, I hope, but we’ll have to see where it ends up.
In other news, I have the cover selected for Illusion of Truth. A big thank you to Brent Nichols. He does really cool covers for book series. If you are a writer with an idea for a series (isn’t everyone?), you should check him out. You can see the new cover on my Books page.
So, one item done from my goals for the quarter. Only fifteen more to go!
I had hoped to get something posted for my world today, but I’m working on the story instead. I’m already behind, so working on that seems to make the most sense.
As always, thanks for the support. Let me know in the comments if there’s anything you want to know.
