Church Hierarchy

The priesthood is controlled by the 17 Seraphim. They meet every five years to decide the priesthood’s position on the issues of the time. All other clergy are called priests. Each Seraph chooses their successors. Only a Seraph may challenge the action of another Seraph. If a corrupt person is in a position of power, the council of the Seraphim may depose him/her by of vote of 16. Most of the time, this leads to violent removal.

Initiation into Priesthood

Prospective initiates are sent to Frothwere, where they are taught the Disciplines of Myril. Those who successfully complete their schooling must prove themselves worthy by completing a quest given to them by the Seraph of Myos.

Initiation into Faithful

Those who wish to worship Myril are required to learn his edicts, but nothing else is required.

Suborders of Priesthood

The Knights of the Ankh

These priests devote their lives fighting the undead, as they are the greatest threat to sentient life. The Knights were founded by Simstra Valitsma, an Elven lord who devoted his life to the destruction of the forces of the undead before the Dragon Wars.

The Paladins

These priests believe that faith will protect them from all harm. They also believe that their faith can heal all evils in the world. To this end, these priests travel the countryside trying to destroy all evils in the world. For many, this is a lifelong quest. Unfortunately, their lives tend to be rather short.
